    Privacy Policy

    Introduction

    YourLPA Partner will routinely ask for sensitive personal information from you in order to provide accurate drafting services and/or will/LPA advice.  This will include your name, address, date of birth and details of your assets, liabilities and income. It may also include similar details for your children or those for whom you are a legal guardian, carer, attorney or court appointed deputy. We will also ask for some personal information about others connected to you such as the names and addresses of beneficiaries under your will or beneficiaries of lifetime trusts.

    It is important we hold accurate personal data to provide you with the services you have instructed us to undertake. Without comprehensive accurate details of your circumstances the advice given to you may be inaccurate despite our best efforts.

    We will also use your information to contact you from time to time by phone to remind you that your will should be regularly reviewed and to notify you of our services in general.

    Most personal data we keep for 6 years. Some data we retain indefinitely this includes data relating to trusts set up in life, wills, powers of attorney .

    Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have a number of important rights that you can exercise free of charge. In summary, these rights are:

    • Transparency over how we use your personal data and fair processing of your information;
    • Access to your personal information and other supplementary information;
    • Require us to correct any mistakes or complete missing information we hold on you;
    • Require us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances;
    • Receive a copy of the personal information you have provided to us or have this information be sent to a third party.;
    • Object at any time to processing of your personal information for direct marketing;
    • Object in certain other situations to the continued processing of your personal information;
    • Restrict our processing of your personal information in certain circumstances;
    • Request not to be subject to automated decision making which produce legal effects that concern you or affect you in a significantly similar way;

    If you want to exercise any of these rights, please:

    • Email, 
    • Provide a 3rd party with information so that we can identify you such as copies of your photo ID and proof of address certified by a solicitor or similar professional. We may need to contact you to request further information to verify your identity;
    • Let us have proof of your identity and address;
    • State the right or rights that you wish to exercise;

    Information Sharing in General

    We will share personal information with law enforcement agencies if required by applicable law.

    We will not share your personal information with any other third parties without your consent.

    We are relying on your explicit consent to process your data either when you first contacted us, in regard processing your data to contact you and arrange an appointment.  For all other data we rely on the consent when you accepted our terms of business.

    You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time, but this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing activity we have carried out prior to you withdrawing your consent.  You can opt-out by contacting us.

    Future Processing

    We do not intend to process your personal information for any reason other than stated within this privacy notice. If this changes, we will inform you by email.
